Two Day Trainings
This is training for clinicians who have completed the TF-CBT basic training http://tfcbt.musc.edu. Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidence-based treatment designed to help children with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, or other behavioral and emotional difficulties related to traumatic life experiences. TF-CBT is a model of psychotherapy that includes trauma-sensitive interventions with cognitive-behavioral therapy suitable for multiple clinical and mental health settings such as school, home and clinic. TF-CBT is a multi-dimensional model that includes individual sessions, parent sessions, and conjoint sessions to address the unique needs of each child. Multiple scientifically rigorous studies have demonstrated that TF-CBT has helped children recover from the negative effects of trauma. This training will provide: An overview of the importance of both the clinical and societal context of trauma assessment, how to identify appropriate client candidates for TF-CBT, and implementation of the model through the PRACTICE components.
